Cancellation Steps

01

Open your account on the web

Spotify Premium cannot be cancelled in the mobile app. Open a browser, go to spotify.com, and log in to your Account page.

02

Go to Manage your plan

Under Your plan, find Manage your plan and click (or tap) Change plan.

03

Choose to cancel

Scroll down to Cancel Spotify and click (or tap) Cancel Premium.

04

Confirm

Follow the prompts to confirm. Your account stays on Premium until your next billing date, then switches to the free plan. On a Family or Duo plan, only the plan manager can cancel.

05

If you subscribed through a third party

If you signed up via the Apple App Store or Google Play, cancelling on Spotify won't stop billing — cancel through Apple (Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions) or Google Play subscriptions instead.

Refund policy

Spotify payments are generally non-refundable, and in the US you typically won't receive a refund for unused time after cancelling.

  • You keep Premium until the end of the current billing period, so cancel before your next renewal date to avoid another charge.
  • Refunds are usually only granted where required by law; the 14-day refund window mainly applies to certain regions and unused subscriptions.
  • If you were billed through Apple, any refund request must go to Apple, not Spotify.

Common issues

No Cancel option on the web page

If you don't see Cancel Premium, your subscription is likely billed through a third party (Apple, Google, or a mobile carrier); cancel through that provider instead.

Still being charged after cancelling

Check whether you have a second subscription billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, since cancelling on spotify.com does not stop charges made through those stores.

No. You cannot cancel Premium inside the Spotify mobile app. Use a web browser at spotify.com, or if you were billed through Apple, cancel in iPhone Settings > Subscriptions.
Will I lose Premium immediately when I cancel?
No. You keep all Premium features until the end of your current billing cycle, then your account automatically switches to the free Spotify plan.
Will I get a refund when I cancel?
