Cancellation Steps

1

Open Settings and tap your name

On your iPhone, open the Settings app and tap (or click) [your name] at the top.

2

Go to Subscriptions

Tap (or click) Subscriptions, then choose your Apple Music subscription.

3

Cancel the subscription

Tap (or click) Cancel Subscription — you may need to scroll down to find it. If there's no Cancel button or you see an expiration message in red, it's already cancelled.

4

Cancel from a browser instead

On a Mac or PC, go to music.apple.com, click the My Account icon, choose Settings, scroll to Subscriptions and click Manage, then Cancel Subscription.

5

If you were billed through a third party

If you subscribed through a carrier or another company rather than directly from Apple, contact that provider to cancel. Apple Music access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Refund Policy

Canceling stops future charges but does not automatically refund the current period. Apple generally does not refund subscription payments, though you can submit a request through Report a Problem and Apple reviews it case by case.

  • Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account.
  • Select Request a refund, choose a reason, then pick the Apple Music charge and submit.
  • You can also request via Settings > your name > Media & Purchases > Purchase History, or via the email receipt's Report a Problem link.
  • Decisions usually take a few days; eligibility depends on your region and circumstances, and many subscription charges are non-refundable.

Common Issues

No Cancel button appears

If there is no Cancel Subscription option, the subscription is already canceled or was purchased through a third party (e.g., a carrier or Google Play) and must be canceled there.

Canceling via Apple One

If Apple Music is part of an Apple One bundle, you can't cancel just Music separately — use Choose Individual Services to drop Music, or Cancel All Services to end the whole bundle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I lose access to Apple Music immediately after canceling?
No. You keep access until the end of your current paid billing period; it simply won't renew after that.
Can I cancel Apple Music from a Mac?
Yes. Open the Music app, choose Account > Account Settings from the menu bar, sign in, scroll to Subscriptions, click Manage, then Cancel Subscription.
What happens to my playlists and library after canceling?
Your downloaded songs and any music added from the catalog become unavailable once the subscription ends, but personal playlists are retained and reactivate if you resubscribe; music you purchased outright stays yours.
