About us

Subscription Price Guide is an independent index of US subscription list prices. Across 30 primary plans, prices are up 35% since 2021. Every hike is a dated event with a primary source — not an estimate.

Who we are

We compile the index independently. It is a research project, not a media company and not a deal site: no one pays to be listed, ranked, or omitted. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Netflix, Disney, Spotify, or any other service named here.

The work started because subscription bills keep rising and the public record of what a plan used to cost is scattered across old blog posts and deleted help pages. This site keeps that history in one place, with sources attached.

How we compile the index

  1. 01

    Log a dated event

A price change is stored as an immutable event: old price, new price, the date it took effect, and a source URL. We do not overwrite history.

  2. 02

    Cite a primary source

Each event links to an official newsroom post, help-center page, or reputable reporting. Estimates and unsourced screenshots are not logged.

  3. 03

Derive every statistic at build time

Current price, total increase, hike count, highs and lows, and the aggregate index are computed from the event log when the site is built — so the pages, structured data and summaries cannot disagree.

  4. 04

    Publish US list prices

Figures are US base prices in USD, before tax. Promotional rates and app-store markups can differ from the prices shown.
