2

Manage your membership

4

Confirm the cancellation

On the final screen, click (or tap) Cancel My Benefits. You can choose End Now (with a possible prorated refund) or keep benefits until the end of the current billing period.

5

Signed up via Google Play?

If you subscribed to Prime through Google Play on Android, cancel it in Google Play subscriptions instead.

Refund Policy

If you haven't used any Prime benefits since renewing, you can get a full refund; otherwise Amazon offers a prorated refund based on benefits used when you choose to end immediately.

  • Choose End Now to cancel immediately and trigger any eligible refund.
  • Choose End on [date] to keep all benefits until the paid cycle ends with no refund needed.
  • Free-trial members can cancel anytime before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

Common Issues

Retention offers keep appearing

Amazon shows several 'are you sure' and discount screens—keep selecting the option to continue ending the membership until you see a final confirmation.

Annual vs. monthly refund differs

Annual members who used benefits get a refund prorated by benefits used; monthly members typically just run to the end of the current month.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I get a refund if I cancel mid-cycle?
Yes if you haven't used Prime benefits since the last charge (full refund), or a prorated refund based on usage if you end immediately; choosing End on [date] gives no refund but keeps benefits.
Does cancelling Prime cancel Prime Video?
Yes—Prime Video is a benefit of full Amazon Prime, so ending Prime also ends that access unless you hold a separate standalone Prime Video subscription.
Can I cancel during a free trial?
Yes. Cancel anytime before the trial period ends and you won't be charged for the first paid cycle.
