Cancellation Steps

1

Sign in at audible.com

Log in to audible.com in any web browser. You cannot cancel from the Audible app on any device.

2

Open Account Details

Click (or tap) your username in the top-right corner, then select Account Details from the dropdown.

3

Choose to cancel

Click (or tap) the Cancel membership button.

4

Confirm through the prompts

Audible shows several retention screens; keep clicking (or tapping) Continue to cancel until you reach the final confirmation. Your benefits and credits remain until the end of the current billing cycle.

5

If you subscribed through Apple or Google

If you're billed via the Apple App Store or Google Play, the Audible site won't show a cancel option. Cancel in your phone's Subscriptions settings instead.

Refund Policy

Membership fees are generally non-refundable, but you keep access until the end of your current paid billing cycle. Individual titles can often be returned separately under Audible's return policy.

  • You retain membership benefits until the end of the billing period you already paid for.
  • Any unused credits are forfeited and disappear once the membership officially ends.
  • Eligible audiobooks can be returned within 365 days of purchase, but contact Audible Customer Care for membership-fee refund exceptions.

Common Issues

No cancel button in the app

The mobile app intentionally omits cancellation; switch to a web browser at audible.com or, for Apple-billed accounts, use iPhone Settings > Subscriptions.

Pause offer instead of cancel

Audible frequently presents a pause-for-up-to-3-months option or bonus credits during the flow; decline these and choose Continue to cancel if you truly want to end the membership.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I lose my unused credits when I cancel?
Yes. Any credits not used before your membership ends are forfeited, so spend them before the final billing date.
Do I keep the audiobooks I already own after canceling?
Yes. Titles you purchased with credits or cash remain in your library permanently, even after the membership ends.
Why can't I cancel from the Audible app?
Audible does not allow cancellation inside the app; you must use a desktop or mobile web browser at audible.com, or cancel through Apple Settings if you were billed via the App Store.
