Amazon Prime costs $139 per year or $14.99 per month in the US as of July 2026, unchanged since the February 2022 increase. Prime for Young Adults (formerly Prime Student) is $69 per year or $7.49 per month, and qualifying government-assistance recipients pay $6.99 per month for Prime Access.

The annual plan is cheaper. At $139 per year, Prime works out to about $11.58 per month, while the monthly plan costs $14.99 — $179.88 over a full year. Paying annually saves roughly $41 a year, so the monthly plan mainly makes sense for short-term use.

Amazon Prime includes free two-day (and often same-day or one-day) shipping, Prime Video with limited ads, Amazon Music Prime, Prime Reading, Prime Gaming, Grubhub+ and access to Prime Day and other member-only deals. Everything is covered by the single $139-per-year or $14.99-per-month membership fee.

Yes. New members get a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime with full benefits, including Prime Video and free shipping. Eligible 18-to-24-year-olds get six months free through Prime for Young Adults.
