Cancellation Steps

1

Open Claude on the web or desktop

Log in at claude.ai in a web browser or open the Claude desktop app, where subscriptions bought directly are managed.

2

Go to Settings

Click (or tap) your initials or name in the lower-left corner, then select Settings.

3

Open Billing

Navigate to Settings > Billing to see your Claude Pro subscription.

4

Cancel the subscription

Click (or tap) the Cancel button. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, so cancel at least 24 hours before your next billing date to avoid being charged again.

5

If you subscribed in the app

If you signed up through the Claude iOS or Android app, tap your initials, choose Billing, then Manage subscription and follow the prompts in the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Refund Policy

Anthropic generally does not provide prorated refunds; access continues until the end of the current billing cycle.

  • Mid-cycle cancellations are not refunded for the unused portion in the US.
  • App Store or Google Play purchases must be refunded through Apple or Google.

Common Issues

Billing tab shows no Manage option

This usually means you subscribed via the iOS app; cancel through Apple's Subscriptions screen instead of claude.ai.

Reactivating later

If you cancel by mistake, you can re-subscribe from the Billing page, but a new billing cycle starts at the next purchase.

I subscribed on my iPhone — why can't I cancel on the website?
Apple manages App Store subscriptions, so you must cancel in iPhone Settings under Subscriptions.
