Cancellation Steps
Sign in to ChatGPT
Log in to chatgpt.com in a web browser, where self-service ChatGPT Plus billing is managed.
Open Settings
Click (or tap) your profile icon, then select Settings.
Go to Billing
Select Billing to view your ChatGPT Plus subscription details.
Cancel the plan
Under Cancel plan, click (or tap) Cancel. Cancellation takes effect the day after your next billing date, so cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal to avoid the next charge. Fees are non-refundable.
If you subscribed on a phone
If you signed up through the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), you must cancel in that store's Subscriptions settings rather than on the web.
Refund policy
OpenAI generally does not issue prorated refunds; you keep Plus access through the end of the period you already paid for.
- Partial-month refunds are typically not provided in the US.
- If you subscribed via Apple or Google, any refund request must go through that app store, not OpenAI.
Common issues
No Manage button on web
If you don't see Manage my subscription, you likely subscribed through the iOS app and must cancel via Apple's Subscriptions screen instead.
Still charged after cancelling
Confirm the cancellation went through on the same platform you subscribed on; charges from Apple or Google won't stop by cancelling on the website.
