Questions

Facebook pricing FAQ

How much has Facebook gone up in price?
As of Jul 2026, Facebook Plus costs $3.99/month in the US — unchanged from $3.99 since 2026. A flat price is still part of the index: dropping services that have not raised prices would overstate the aggregate increase across tracked plans. We have not yet recorded a price-change event for this plan; the launch price is the current price. If Facebook announces a change, we log it as a dated event with a primary source — an official newsroom post or reputable reporting — and recompute every figure from that log. Prices are US list prices in USD, excluding tax; promotional and app-store rates can differ. Subscription Price Guide is an independent index and is not affiliated with Facebook. Every statistic on this page — current price, total increase, hike count, highs and lows — is computed at build time from the stored event log, so the page, the structured data and the index cannot disagree.
How much does a Facebook subscription cost in 2026?
Facebook itself is still free, but Meta now sells two optional subscriptions: Facebook Plus at $3.99 per month for customization perks, and Meta Verified from $14.99 per month when purchased in-app (or $11.99 per month on the web) for the verified badge and account support.
What is Facebook Plus?
Facebook Plus is a $3.99-per-month subscription Meta launched on May 27, 2026 — Facebook's first mainstream consumer plan. It adds Super Heart animated reactions for Stories, custom app icons, customizable profile and bio fonts, extra profile pins and Stories insights. It does not remove ads.
What does Meta Verified include?
Meta Verified starts at $14.99 per month in-app ($11.99 on the web) per profile and includes a verified badge, proactive impersonation protection, 24/7 account support and increased visibility in search. Creators can step up to higher tiers — Plus at $49.99, Premium at $149.99 and Max at $499.99 per month — which add features like links in Reels and dedicated account monitoring.
Is Facebook going to make everyone pay?
No. The core Facebook experience — feed, groups, marketplace, messaging — remains free and ad-supported in the US. Facebook Plus and Meta Verified are optional add-ons, and neither is required to keep using your account.
How do I cancel Facebook Plus or Meta Verified?
Go to Settings & privacy → Settings → Accounts Center, select your subscription, then choose Manage subscription → Cancel. If you subscribed inside the iOS or Android app, cancel through Apple's or Google Play's subscription settings instead. Benefits continue until the end of the current billing period.

Methodology

How We Verify Facebook Pricing

  1. 01

    Official sources only

Every price change in the log links to Facebook’s own pricing page, help-center documentation, or announcement — never estimates or third-party reports.

  2. 02

    Recorded as events

Prices are stored as dated change events, and every statistic on this page is computed from that log at build time — displayed numbers can never drift from the sources.

  3. 03

    Verified Jul 2026

This page was last checked against Facebook’s official pricing and is re-verified whenever a change is announced.

  4. 04

    US list prices

All prices are US list prices in USD, before taxes and fees. Promotional rates and app-store markups can differ from the prices shown here.
